  1. Join the Crew!

The HFX Flight Crew is comprised of a team of dedicated people, striving to not only giving the kids the best time of their lives, but also giving the best of what each of us have to offer.  Our motto is: Flying High with Excellence. So not only is this a ministry of serving the kids and their families but also a ministry of growth in our knowledge & skills, relationships, and spirituality.

Our Process:

All potential volunteers will go through our Placement Process:
1) 2-Week Observation: A time for YOU to observe us wand famaliarize yourself with the logistics and environment.
2) Interview: An informal meeting to hear your thoughts and for us to know you better.
3) Orientation & Criminal Record Check: A team package with important information will be provided.
4) One Formal Check-up: Again, to see how YOU are feeling about everything.

Our Positions:

While there are always areas that have needs, we want you to fit where you are interested in.  If neither of the following fits, just let us know and we'll help you find the right spot.  There is something for everyone!

puppetsRunway Crew: There are various positions available within the Runway Crew to help run the Runway show at the beginning and at the end.  The components include: music (worship), games, puppetry, drama and leader (aka host/hostess).  Got any of these skills or just willing to try them out?

Hub Group Leaders: Every other week, the kids are split into their hub groups for a time of sharing and learning within smaller groups.  Discussion questions are provided.  Do you like talking to kids or impacting them directly or at least want to try?

Connecting Flight Leaders: During the off-week when we don't have hub groups, we have connecting flight activities.  If you like to lead an activitiy or are crafty, this might be for you!

Mess Hall Assistants: Food plays an important part of the night as the kids get to chat, build relationships, practice ettiquettes and prayer.  Not comfortable interacting with kids in a formal environment?  This is a great area to serve in.

This is only a glimpse of what we do at HFX Kids Club.  For more detailed information, please get in touch with us!

Our Requirements:

The only requirement we have is that you must have been attending the Vancouver Chinese Pentecostal Church for at least the past 6 months on a regular basis.  Aside from that, there are no other qualifications!  Not a teacher?  Totally fine.  No experience with children?  We just need a willing heart.  No skills or talents?  Many children workers don't just naturally have them.  They learn and practice them!  This is a learning opportunity as much as a serving opportunity.
