The HKer’s Study Group is a program designed by "HKFIC" for Hong Kong people who have recently immigrated to Canada.
People who have recently left Hong Kong for Canada, after experiencing events in Hong Kong over the past few years, may carry feelings of pain, anger, sadness, disappointment, reluctance, and even a sense of helplessness. These emotions don't vanish upon leaving Hong Kong and if not addressed properly, new immigrants may struggle to adapt healthily to their new life in Canada.
This small group course aims to provide a safe, confidential environment where participants can address their struggles. We will explore spiritual resources in the Bible that can support us together.
There are 13 courses in total, and the content is divided into three parts:
In the "past" part, we reflect on our experiences in Hong Kong
In the "present" part, we learn to face our current life and understand Canadian culture
In the "future" part, we try to reconstruct our vision for the future and imagine a new life in Canada
